Ben Stokes pulls out of the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Tata IPL 2022: Dashing all-rounder Ben Stokes has opted out from the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) following England’s upsetting show against Australia in the recently wrapped Ashes 2021-22. Australia whipped England by a massive 4-0 in the five matches Ashes.

Stokes has followed England test captain Joe Root in pulling out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Both the cricketers want to focus all their energy on reviving and rescuing the England test side after such a flawed performance.

Joe Root, ahead of the fifth test, indicated his arrival in the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL), however, the cricketer later confirmed that his team needs him and he will do his best to put the England test team back on the track.

Ben Stokes didn’t endure a breakthrough season in the recently held Ashes. Though he got a few starts, but couldn’t manage to convert them into decisive scores.

The all-rounder fetched a handsome sum in the IPL 2018 mega auction from Rajasthan Royals (RR) and he won’t be receiving that as he has opted out of the tournament. Stokes broke banks of several IPL franchises and bagged a massive sum of $ 1.4 million in the 2018 auctions.

There were a lot of IPL teams who were targeting the services of all-rounder Ben Stokes for the IPL 2022. He is also reckoned as a probable captaincy candidate for the future.

A couple of reports have claimed that England Cricket Board (ECB) is setting up a proper curriculum to improve the performance of the Englishmen in the traditional format of cricket.

The beginning of that curriculum would be with the start of England’s home summer. Further, it has been learnt that ECB might restrict its cricketers to feature in the IPL 2022.
