Team India looked dominant from the start. Despite losing three early wickets in the first innings, India’s innings was handled by Cheteshwar Pujara and Rishabh Pant, and the partnership of Shreyas Iyer and Cheteshwar Pujara later took the team to a respectable score. Team India flexed its tail-end strength, with Ravichandran Ashwin scoring a half-century at the end, and Kuldeep adding 40 runs to India’s total of 404.

The Bangladeshi squad was unable to respond in a particularly noteworthy manner to this. Siraj struck Najmul Hussain Santo with the first ball of the innings, sending him to the pavilion. After that, wickets continued to fall frequently, and no Bangladeshi batsman was able to surpass 30 runs. Bangladesh’s first innings was therefore cut to 150.

India could have forced the follow-on with a 254-run lead, but KL Rahul opted to bat. Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara both scored two metallic hundreds for India while they were batting. India increased their second-inning total by 258 runs, giving Bangladesh a 512-run target, and gave themselves two days to completely outplay Bangladesh.

With a 124-run partnership for the first wicket, Bangladesh’s second innings appeared impressive right away. In his debut international cricket match, Zakir Hasan struck a century. Captain Shakib Al Hasan played aggressively and scored 84 runs. However, the approach was ineffective because the Indian team was able to keep drowning wickets from one end. On the final day, India needed four wickets to win, which they got in the first 50 minutes of the day, and they won by 188 runs.
