Mumbai Indians are not having a great time in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, they have struggled to get going and have lost three out of their games so far in the tournament.

Mumbai Indians have looked clueless in the IPL 2024 so far. The captaincy shift from Rohit Sharma to Hardik Pandya so far isn’t working as fans too haven’t been kind on the all-rounder. The five-time champions are reeling at the bottom of the points table and are the only team in the tournament with no wins under their belt.

But it’s still early days in the IPL 2024 and with the kind of franchise Mumbai Indians has been, it’s fair to say one cannot write them off. They have been at the receiving end of the same in the past seasons as well and have done some incredible things, going on to win the tournament.

Mumbai Indians are considered the slow starters in the IPL. They will be next facing Delhi Capitals in their league match on Sunday (7th April). The upcoming game will be a huge opportunity for them to make a comeback and get back to winning ways. However, they would need a few changes here and there for the same.

Two changes Mumbai Indians can do to get back to winning ways in IPL 2024

As their game against Delhi Capitals is around the corner, let’s take a look at two changes Mumbai Indians can do to get back to winning ways in IPL 2024:

Nuwan Thushara in place of Kwena Maphaka

One of the changes that Mumbai Indians need to make for their Delhi Capitals is to bring Nuwan Thushara in place of Kwena Maphaka. The Sri Lanka fast bowler has been in sensational form and recently took a hat-trick against Bangladesh in the T20Is. But management so far hasn’t given him an opportunity as they have gone in with Kwena Maphaka, who hasn’t been able to make a mark in the two games. The presence of Thusara will allow Mumbai to have a new ball bowler as well as the death bowler. His slinging action could be handy for the team going ahead into the tournament.

Mohammad Nabi in place in Dewald Brevis

Mumbai Indians have been failing to finish the innings on high in all three games that they have played so far in the IPL 2024. Therefore inclusion of Mohammad Nabi can change this thing for them. The Afghanistan all-rounder has been a brutal batter down the order and apart from that is a handy off-spinner. Mumbai can replace him with Brevis and instead of the batter, they can bring in Nehal Wadhera as an impact batter in the team.
