WPL 2024 Auction

WPL 2024 Auction: After a successful inaugural season of WPL this year, Women Cricket is set to escalate the tones next year as there was some real heat in the Auction table last night. Australian star Annabel Sutherland and India’s uncapped pace sensation Kashvee Gautam became the joint-highest earners at the WPL 2024 Player Auction with deals of INR 2 Crore. We brought to you full Squads of all the five teams after the Auction for WPL 2024.

The inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League was a great success for women’s cricket where Mumbai Indians became the first team to win the Women’s Premier League Tournament. Smriti Mandhana became the most expensive player of WPL last year sold for whooping INR 3.40 Crore to Royal Challengers Bangalore and she is still the most expensive after the second season of WPL Auction.

However, this was a mini-auction and still, there are two players who were followed to the limits by all franchises. Sutherland of Australia and uncapped Indian Kashvee Gautam were the two making headlines after partying a deal of INR 2 Crores each in the WPL 2024 Auction.

A total of 30 slots were filled in the mini-auction where Gujarat Giants had 10 alone. They went for a complete reshaping of their squad after a mediocre 2023 season. Royal Challenger Bangalore were filled with big superstars of International cricket in 2023, yet failed to qualify for finals so they also asked for 7 new players in the WPL 2024 Auction.

It was pleasing to hear that not only foreign players, but also Indian players were in high demand. Five out of ten most expensive players were Indian women. If we talk in numbers, 6.85 Crore were spent on Indian players and 5.90 Crore were spent on overseas players.

Down below are the details of what teams made out of the Auction and full Squads of all the five teams after the Auction for WPL 2024:
