BCCI announced Squad for Test and ODI for West Indies Tour

WI vs IND 2023: BCCI announced Squad for Test and ODI for West Indies Tour, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal are included in the Squad: The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) has announced Indian Team Squad for Test and ODI for West Indies Tour, which is Scheduled to Start on 12 July 2023. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been included in the test squad, but Yashasvi isn’t in the ODI Squad, whereas Bowlers like, Mukesh Kumar and Navdeep Saini have found their place in the team as well, but Navdeep couldn’t get a spot in ODIs.

Mohd. Shami and Umesh Yadav were rested for both test and ODI series, and Chateshwar Pujara also couldn’t find spot in the team. Rohit Sharma will lead the squad, whereas Ajinkya Rahane will be the Vice-Captain of The Indian Test Team, however, Hardik Pandya will be the vice-captain of the ODI Team.

Some Key Players Like Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin are in the squad. This Test Series is crucial for the Skipper Rohit Sharma as he needs to prove himself after having bad performances for the last one and half years.

Many youngsters have been included in the Test and ODI squads. This Shows BCCI wants to give opportunities to youngsters, and also, they were trying to form new squads, especially in T20I and ODI, so that the team couldn’t depended on some Players only.

Siraj, Navdeep Saini, Mukesh Kumar, Jaydev Unadkat.

India’s ODI squad: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Surya Kumar Yadav, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson (wicket-keeper), Ishan Kishan (wicket-keeper), Shardul Thakur, Hardik Pandya (vice-captain), Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Jaydev Unadkat, Mukesh Kumar, Mohd. Siraj, Umran Malik.
