ICC Rankings 2026: India Begin New Year on Top in ODIs & T20Is, Australia Lead Tests
India Men’s National Cricket Team dominated 2025 in the ICC Rankings, and they are carrying forward the same in the New Year 2026. However, India is the only No.1 ODI and T20I team in the world, while Australia is the No.1 Test Team. India and Australia are currently the two best cricket teams in the world; they are playing exceptional cricket and have exceptional players.
The Indian Team dominated the White-ball cricket in 2025. It was an exceptional year for India’s ODI Team as they won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 and finished the year with the highest-ranked team. As of now, India is in the top spot in the ICC ODI Team Rankings with a rating of 121.
But The Biggest achievement was the exceptional growth and complete dominance of India’s young T20I team, who played fearless cricket and challenged every other country with their performances. India is currently the No.1 T20I Team with a rating of 272 in the ICC Men’s T20 Team Rankings.
Australia, on the other hand, has completely dominated test cricket throughout the year. Australia is currently the No.1 Test Team, and they have a rating of 124 in the ICC Test Team Rankings. Australia is also at the top spot in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Standings with a PCT of 85.71%.

Alongside India and Australia, New Zealand remains consistent across formats, and they are likely to dominate in 2026, especially in test cricket. South Africa and England are also two good sides, but they need to be more consistent. South Africa has plenty of quality players, and they are emerging, but England’s performance is declining.
