Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter Virat Kohli won the hearts of many after his gesture after the game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. The match between the two teams took place on Sunday (21st April) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
RCB had another disappointing outing in the IPL as they suffered yet another loss. However, this was the most heartbreaking defeat for them as they fell short of the target by 1 just run at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Sunday.
Asked to field first, RCB didn’t have a great outing with the ball. They gave away 222 runs as their bowlers were yet again taken to the cleaners. They failed to control run flow and ended up conceding a short 200+ target for them to chase.
With the bat, it was a poor start for them as they lost early wickets including in form Virat Kohli for just 18 runs. However, after that, Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar slammed brutal half-centuries and brought their team back into the game.
Dinesh Karthik and Suyash Prabhudessai played valiant hands but after they got out, KKR seemed favourites to win the game. With 21 runs needed in the last over, Karn Sharma revived the hopes of the fans.

Karn Sharma took Mitchell Starc to the cleaners and almost won the game for his team. However, RCB failed to finish the match as they fell short of just 1. This was their 7th loss in the tournament and their hopes to qualify for the playoffs now seem to dented.

Virat Kohli, who was given out controversially, looked dejected after that loss as he has been giving his best for the team in the ongoing IPL. Despite being gutted, he made sure that he helped the youngsters.
After the game, Virat Kohli was seen sharing his experience with the youngsters of the Kolkata Knight Riders. What caught the attention of many was young players were listing keenly to him.
