T20 World Cup 2024: In the big recent development, the United States of America (USA) and West Indies (CWI) may get one major ICC tournament to host in the upcoming ICC cycle, which begins in 2024. It’s been quite sometime now that the talks have been going around with Cricket USA kept at the centre.

If the reports are to be believed, an international cricket tournament comprising of 20 ICC teams may arrive in the US as early as 2024. The global cricket body is reported to have received a joint bid from Cricket USA, the cricket body of the United States, and Cricket West Indies (CWI) for hosting the 2024 Twenty20 World Cup.

ICC’s major target is to get inclusion in the upcoming 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and for that dominating the United States’s cricket is important. In such a case, giving away one T20 World Cup to the US Cricket makes sense.

Moreover, India is likely to get a 2031 50-over World Cup and a Test Championship to host in the upcoming ICC cycle. It is noteworthy, BCCI will host the 2023 ODI World Cup.

The decision on all these aspects is likely to be taken in a week’s time. The in-person meet of the ICC officials is scheduled in Dubai, the headquarters of ICC. The first meet is scheduled for 11th November while the board meeting will be on 16th November.
