IPL 2022: Renowned Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle has expressed his thoughts on the two cricketers who will fetch big bucks in the upcoming Tata IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Bhogle picked two Indian names to go with and both have the abilities to transform the outcome of the match in a matter of a few overs.
The fifteenth edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin from the last week of March, but ahead of that, IPL 2022 mega Auction will be held which is scheduled for the 12th and 13th of February in Bangalore.
As per Harsha Bhogle’s choice, young Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan along with middle-order batsman Shahrukh Khan are going to be the two players who will sign a lucrative deal with the IPL franchises in the IPL 2022 mega Auction.
Justifying his choices, Bhogle elaborated that Ishan is young and a wicketkeeper-batsman. Also being an Indian cricketer in the IPL adds upto your value which becomes crucial.
“Ishan Kishan, because he ticks off an Indian player, left-hander, wicketkeeper… left-hand top-order wicketkeeper, that’s three boxes you’re looking for,” said Bhogle while speaking on Cricbuzz.
Jharkhand cricketer, Ishan Kishan was released by Mumbai Indians (MI) ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Even though the franchise would have wanted to retain him, but the rules set by BCCI didn’t permit it.
Interestingly Kishan also denied an IPL contract of INR 7 Crores from Ahmedabad and opted to go to the auction table. Several experts believe that MI is certainly going to bid heavily for the youngster in the IPL and the wicketkeeper-batsman might again end up with his original franchise.
The veteran commentator picked Tamil Nadu batsman Shahrukh Khan as his second choice to earn a hefty IPL contract. He even compared Shahrukh Khan with Yusuf Pathan, who at his prime used to whack the opposition for fun.
“I’m expecting him to do really well this year because there is a spark about him, and he’s got a huge presence at the crease. He’s big built, a bit like Yusuf Pathan. You know, Yusuf Pathan in his prime when he was batting, he had that presence about him at the crease, and I find a little bit of that in Shahrukh Khan,” he said.
Khan was associated with Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the IPL 2021. The franchise got his rights by shelling out INR 5.25 Crores. Ahead of the mega auction, as expected, PBKS released Shahrukh Khan and the youngster will head to the auction table to find his new franchise.
