IPL 2024 CSK: The Countdown to the highly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season is set to start in just a couple of days but things aren’t going in the favor of franchises as lots of key players are injured or doubtful for the IPL 2024 phase 1. A Huge setback to the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as injury list kept on increasing in their camp ahead of the upcoming season of Indian Premier League.
The Kiwi batter Devon Conway and Sri Lankan Pacer Matheesha Pathirana are already doubtful for the IPL 2024 due to injuries but Bangladeshi Pacer Mushtafizur Rahman also got injured ahead of the IPL 2024 opening match.
During the third ODI match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, while bowling in the first inning, Mushtafizur Rahman leaves the ground on a stretcher due to severe cramps. This incident took in the 48th over of the first inning, when Mushtafizur Rahman came to bowl his last over of the match, he had discomfort in his left hand and just after completing the over, he fell onto the ground.
He could not even walk off the field, so support staff came up with a stretcher to get him off for medical treatment. Due to intense heat in the Chattogram, Mushtafizur Rahman could have cramps all over the body.
Devon Conway’s Absence led to a Gap in the Top:
The New Zealand wicket-keeper batsman Devon Conway, who is known for his robust batting style and long partnerships is set to miss the IPL 2024 due to a fracture in the joint of his thumb. Conway’s aggressive batting and crucial partnerships led Chennai Super Kings to have an excellent start in the lots of matches in the IPL 2023.
Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad were the opening pair of CSK in the last edition of the Indian Premier League but now, Conway isn’t available for this season so, we might get to have a new face in the opening pair. It is expected that Rachin Ravindra is likely to open with Ruturaj Gaikwad in the IPL 2024.
The Absence of Pathirana increases CSK’s Death Bowling Dilemma:
The Sri Lankan Star Pacer Matheesha Pathirana, who is also known as Baby Malinga performed exceptionally for CSK in the IPL 2023. He was leading the Chennai Super Kings bowling department from the front, especially in the death overs in the last edition of IPL but he isn’t available for the IPL 2024 due to the hamstring injury.
