WPL 2024 Prize Money Details: Riding on the back of brilliant performances of their spinners followed by a sensible outing by the batters against Delhi Capitals (DC), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won its maiden WPL title. The comprehensive win in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) final at the Arun Jaitley Stadium has added a feather on RCB’s cap.
Chasing 114 runs against Delhi Capitals (DC), RCB found themselves in complete control throughout the innings as they hit the winning runs with three balls to spare. Wicketkeeper batter Richa Ghosh got everyone moving as she put the third delivery of the 20th over to the extra cover region to seal the deal for the RCB franchise in the WPL 2024.
Besides Ghosh, one of the key architects of RCB’s WPL Final win remained all-rounder Ellyse Perry. The Aussie cricketer held her nerves throughout the competition and kept playing rescue innings for RCB more often than not.
Perry’s batting was one of the key highlights of RCB’s WPL 2024 title win. She racked up 347 runs in nine outings in the WPL 2024 at an average of 69.40. Perry kept knocking runs at a strike rate of 125.72 and managed to get two half-centuries as well.
Being the highest run-getter in the WPL 2024, Ellyse Perry won the Orange Cap for the season. The Aussie took home INR 5 Lakhs for being the player with the most runs in the season.
The RCB all-rounder was also a key contributor when it came to bowling. Ellyse Perry scalped 7 wickets in 9 outings at an average of 15.57.
Meanwhile, Perry’s teammate, Shreyanka Patil, who kept everyone on their toes throughout the WPL 2024, won the purple cap – for scalping the most number of wickets in the season. The RCB spinner scalped 13 wickets in the season in just 8 games for RCB. She too received INR 5 Lakhs for her Purple Cap in the WPL 2024.
