IPL 2021: Bangladesh?s all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has been granted permission to skip the upcoming Sri Lanka tour to play the Indian Premier League fourteenth edition. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Friday said that the cricketer has approached us for permission to play the T20 Tournament.?



"Shakib gave us a letter stating that he would like to skip the series against Sri Lanka to play in the IPL. We accepted his plea as we don't want to force someone who is reluctant," BCB operations chairman Akram Khan told AFP.

Over 145 Crore rupees spent and 57 players were sold in the IPL auction.



Chirs Morris got the highest ever bid in the IPL history of 16.25 Croes while Krishnappa Gowtham got the highest domestic uncapped bid of INR 9.25 Crores. The English batsman, Dawid Malan was brought by Punjab Kings (formerly known as Kings XI Punjab) for his base price of INR 1.5 Crores. It was surprising for the fans to see the number one ranked ICC T20I batsmen getting sold for only one bid.



Malan for Punjab Kings is a big steal in the IPL 2021 Auction. He really deserved much better than what he got in the auction. Malan reached the crown of ICC T20I rankings in mere 19 games for England.



He has scored 6117 runs in 223 T20 games thus far with a strike rate of 128.61. In the T20I games, he has over 800 runs in 19 games with a strike rate nearing 150.



<h3>Shakib Al Hasan:</h3>



Bangladesh all-rounder is back in the Indian T20 League after completing one year ban. He will be representing two times champion, Kolkata Knight Riders in the upcoming edition of IPL. He was brought by the franchise for INR 3.25 Crores.



He has amassed 5080 runs in 317 T20 games thus far and scalped 360 wickets with an economy of less than seven. He is a consistent performer for any side and can provide depth in both batting and bowling.



Although, INR 3.25 Crores is a good amount but the senior and experienced all-rounder deserved more than this. Shakib is good with bat and can bowl in crucial times and use his international experience.?

The star all-rounder from Bangladesh was given NOC by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) earlier for featuring in the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League ahead of his national duties.

Vivo IPL 2021: Premier Bangladesh?s cricketers Mustafizur Rahman and Shakib Al Hassan will not be given clearance to play the remainder of the Vivo IPL 2021 which is scheduled in UAE, said Bangladesh Cricket Board?s chief Nazmul Hassan on Monday.



The remaining 31 games of the Vivo IPL 2021 will be rescheduled in the UAE between September and October. On one occasion, Shakib, the captain of Mohammedan Sporting Club, kicked the stumps after the on-field umpire turned down his lbw appeal while on the second occasion, he uprooted the stumps and flung them to ground as umpires called for covers during the sixth over.



The game between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Abahani Limited soon resumed and Shakib?s team won it.

Shortly after the game finished, Shakib issued his apology for his poor sportsmanship. In a Facebook post, Shakib wrote: ?Dear fans and followers, I am extremely sorry for losing my temper and ruining the match for everyone and especially those who are watching from home," the message read. "An experienced player like me should not have reacted that way but sometimes against all odds it happens, unfortunately. I apologise to the teams, management, tournament officials and organizing committee for this human error. Hopefully, I won't be repeating this again in the future. Thanks and love you all."

In a bizarre incident that occurred a couple of weeks ago, all-rounder Shakib al Hasan uprooted the stumps and flung them to the ground <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/qualification-scenario-of-india-for-the-wtc-2023-25-final-after-the-historic-test-series-lost-against-new-zealand/" title="after the" class="auto-internal-link" data-auto-link="1" data-link-type="suggestion" data-rule-id="0">after the</a> on-field umpire turned down his leg before appeal. In the same match, Shakib got involved in a heated argument for the second time with the Umpires after they called off the play due to bad lights.



In the second incident, Mahmudullah Riyad, a senior Bangladeshi cricketer, heated up and got involved in a controversial statement due to a wide call.



After these two incidents, Moniruzzaman said that he wants to quit and live his life with respect.

?Enough is enough for me and I don?t want to do umpiring anymore. I have some self-respect and want to live with it. Umpires can make mistakes but if we are treated in this manner, there is no point in doing it anymore because I am not in it just for the money,? Moniruzzaman told Cricbuzz.



Moniruzzaman was not officiating in the game which involved rage incidents of Shakib al Hasan while he was <a href="https://www.icccricketschedule.com/ind-vs-sa-herschelle-gibbs-predicts-the-result-of-the-t20i-series-harsh-pill-to-swallow-as-an-indian-fan-before-the-third-t20-match-to-be-played-today/" title="the Third" class="auto-internal-link" data-auto-link="1" data-link-type="suggestion" data-rule-id="0">the Third</a> Umpire when Mahmudullah Riyad got carried away due to a wide call.



The umpire is considered a rising prospect for Bangladesh umpiring and is a member of?Bangladesh?s ICC Emerging Panel. Moniruzzaman. A couple of reports also suggested that the umpire was likely to be considered for the elite panel as well.



?I was not involved in Shakib?s game. The way he behaved was something very hard for me to digest. In the Mahmudullah match, I was the TV umpire and watching the episode closely. It left me numb and at that point, I decided not to carry on with umpiring,? he recalled.



The skipper of Gazi Tank cricketers Mahmudullah Riyad was fined? 20,000 BDT for his level two offence and Shakib was penalised with USD 5800 and an immediate ban of three matches.
