TATA IPL 2022

The TATA IPL will be beginning on the 26th of March. This tournament will feature several stars. However, there are a few very well-known faces that are not a part of the tournament. The tournament will miss the services of Suresh Raina, Steve Smith, and many other such players as they went unsold in IPL 2022 Mega Auction. If I was to make a team of these unsold players, who would they be? What would the team look like? Here’s a look:

** I have used the 4 foreign and 7 Indian Formats to make the teams.

1) Aaron Finch/ Martin Guptill went Unsold in IPL 2022 Mega Auction:

Both of the opening batters from the Oceanic countries can play very well. Their experience is what would have added value. In the absence of Jason Roy, the Gujarat Titans could have bought any one of them, but that was not the case. Aaron Finch has taken leadership roles in the Australian white ball circuit. While Martin Guptill is the second-highest run-scorer in T20Is.

2) Rajat Patidar:

Both these players were associated with RCB last season. Rajat Patidar even got a few chances with the bat. He was made to open the innings alongside Devdutt Padikkal. Playing for Madhya Pradesh in the domestic circuit, Rajat has been a consistent performer, any IPL team looking for a good Indian batter could have chosen him.

3) Suresh Raina (C) went Unsold in IPL 2022 Mega Auction:

I am certainly no the only one who will miss our lovely China Thala at the IPL! IMG SRC: the Quint.

Mr. IPL and his absence from IPL 2022 have left several fans sad. This left-handed maestro went unsold in TATA IPL 2022 Auction. The Chennai Super Kings didn’t show a keen interest in retaining their trump card. Raina has been one of the best assets of this festival of cricket. His 89 against KXIP in 2014 was a treat to watch. Raina is the first Indian player to score a 100 at the international level. This speaks volumes of talent.

4) Steve Smith/Dawid Malan:

The Australian middle-order batsman went unsold! Steve Smith could have fitted well in teams like MI and Gujarat Titans, which evidently lack a good middle-order batter. Malan on the other hand was also a good choice. Both the batters play spin very well. He would have been a good anchor and such players are required for low-scoring games.

5) Saurabh Tiwary went Unsold in IPL 2022 Mega Auction:

One considered the hire of MSD, Saurabh Tiwary has slipped down the ranks, but his performances are decent, above average in fact! IMG SRC: India TV News

Saurabh Tiwary is very unfortunate to miss out on this year’s IPL. In the limited number of chances given, Saurabh has always scored at an average of 42. His strike rate is a decent 120. His fitness might be the reason for teams to overlook him. But in the 2021 IPL Season Saurabh was good with the bat.

6) Aditya Tare:

There are only a few players who are a part of the IPL from season 3. Aditya Tare belongs to this elite group. Aditya Tare was an integral part of the Mumbai Indians over the years. One season Aditya also played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad and won the league with them too. He is a wicketkeeping option and if required can be floated up the order. Not to forget his six of James Faulkner to get Mumbai Indians qualified in the 2014 playoffs.

7) Shakib Al Hasan/ Dasun Shanaka went Unsold in IPL 2022 Mega Auction:

One of the most experienced cricketers in World Cricket is Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib has been in the top ranks of all-rounders since 2004. This speaks a lot about his dominance in this area which has lasted for 18+ years. He gives the spinning all-rounder option and can be the finisher as well. Dasun showed us in the recently concluded Sri Lanka tour of India what he is capable of. He can be the fast-bowling all-rounder.

8) Ishant Sharma:

Here is Indian Jimmy Anderson, Ishant Sharma. IMG SRC: Jagran Josh

Ishant Sharma, the first teenage millionaire of the IPL back in 2008, went unsold in TATA IPL 2022 Mega Auction. Sharma is one of the most experienced bowlers in the country. Only a few bowlers can keep that level of fitness and consistency. Ishant Sharma is the Indian Jimmy Anderson. Teams that were looking for Indian pacers, left Sharma under the scanner.

9) Piyush Chawla/ Amit Mishra:

After Lasith Malinga, if two bowlers ruled the IPL, it has to be these two-leg spinners. Piyush Chawla was with the Mumbai Indians last season. Amit Mishra on the other hand has always been with the Delhi-based team. Both are veterans of the game and have a truck-load of experience. The thing with these leg-spinners is that they still can beat the batsmen in the air.

10) Andrew Tye went Unsold in TATA IPL 2022 Mega Auction:

Once a purple cap winner has now gone unsold. Andrew Tye looked unstoppable in that season. He still has a lot of fight left. This bowler has an amazing set of variations. His yorkers are pin-point like laser-guided missiles. His slower balls are well-disguised. Tye is a complete T20 package.

11) Sandeep Warrier went Unsold in IPL 2022 Mega Auction:

With all young Indian bowlers taking the big bucks, it is unfortunate to see Sandeep Warrier going unsold. This bowler from Bengal has shown a lot of promise. His injury concern might have kept teams skeptical about picking him. Sandeep is super quick and can swing the ball in the powerplay overs.
