IPL 2021: Shakib Al Hasan might be unavailable for IPL 2021, BCB to reconsider his NOC for IPL 2021

IPL 2021: Shakib Al Hasan might be unavailable for IPL 2021, BCB to reconsider his NOC for IPL 2021.

IPL 2021: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Monday said the body with re-look into Shakib Al Hasan’s No Objection Certificate (NOC) as the cricketer accused the board of ‘misrepresenting’ his decision.

The star all-rounder from Bangladesh was given NOC by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) earlier for featuring in the fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League ahead of his national duties.

Shakib on Sunday said that BCB has ‘misrepresented’ his call to prefer IPL before the test series against Sri Lanka.

BCB cricket operations chairman Akram Khan after the meeting with BCB president Nazmul Hassan said that the board will take a look at Shakib’s NOC in the following couple of days.

“Shakib said that I didn’t read his letter or perhaps I misunderstood his letter,”  Akram Khan said.

“In the following days, we will take that into consideration. If he wants to play the Test series against Sri Lanka then he will play. The board will take the final call after watching the full interview of him,” Khan was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo.com.

BCB cricket operations chairman clearly said that the cricketer opted to be in the Indian Premier League.

“Shakib wrote in the letter that he wants to play the IPL instead of the Test series in Sri Lanka,” he said.

As Bangladesh is out of the ICC World Test Championship race so it will be important for us to prepare for the ICC T20 World Cup which will be held in India later this year. He said playing for KKR in the IPL 2021 will help him prepare for the forthcoming IPL event in India.

The fourteenth edition of Indian Premier League is slated to kick start from 09th April and the ICC T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin in October-November window.
