Shubman Gill pens down a heartfelt message for India’s humiliating whitewash against South Africa

India lost the Test series against South Africa by a margin of 2-0.

Indian Cricket Team Test captain Shubman Gill penned down a heartfelt message after India suffered a humiliating whitewash against South Africa. He said that they will continue to believe in each other, fight for each other, and move forward.

The Indian Cricket Team are having a horrible time in Test cricket. After losing the first match against South Africa by a margin of 30 runs, they were expected to make a comeback in the second match. However, that wasn’t the case as they had another horrible campaign.

The Indian side were asked to field first and had no answers to South Africa’s onslaught. The Proteas batter slammed 489 runs on the back of Senuram Muthusamy and 93 by Marco Jansen. A big batting performance was expected from India but that wasn’t the case either.

India had a decent start with Yashasvi Jaiswal hitting a fifty. But after that, they were folded for just 201 as South Africa earned a massive lead of 288. In the second innings, the Proteas piled up a big total on the back of 94 by Tristan Stubbs. They declared their innings at 260, setting a target of 549.

India had a horrible outing with the bat yet again. They started losing wickets at regular intervals and were bundled out for just 140. Ravindra Jadeja fought hard for his fifty but that wasn’t enough as India lost the match by a massive margin of 488 runs.

We’ll continue to believe in each other, fight for each other, and move forward - rising stronger - Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill, who missed the game due to injury, shared an emotional message after his team lost the game. Taking to his Twitter account, he said:

“Calm seas don’t teach you how to steer, it’s the storm that forges steady hands. We’ll continue to believe in each other, fight for each other, and move forward - rising stronger.”
