Shreyas Iyer locked in for Asia Cup 2025! India star set to make a comeback in all formats

Shreyas Iyer has been one of the consistent performers for Mumbai in the domestic circuit as well as in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In what has been the latest development, as per the reports in the Times of India, it is learned that Shreyas Iyer is all set to make a comeback in the Indian Cricket Team in the Asia Cup 2025. This will mark his comeback to the T20I team after a long.

Over the last year, Shreyas Iyer has been one of the consistent performers for Mumbai in the domestic circuit as well as in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The batter has been scoring truckloads of runs and has literally broken the door of selection.

After his sensational performance in the IPL 2025 for Punjab Kings, where he slammed around 600 runs, he is in the scheme of things to be picked for the Asia Cup 2025, which will be played next month in the United Arab Emirates.

Shreyas Iyer will also be returning to the Indian team on the test side as well

Shreyas Iyer hasn't been part of the Indian T20I setup for a long. His last game in the format came in 2023, and after that, he was terminated from the annual contracts of the BCCI. But his domestic performances earned him a spot back in the list.

Him being part of the Asia Cup 2025 will be a big boost for the Indian Cricket Team as he has been in red-hot form. The tournament will be a great opportunity for him to reclaim his spot in the team and help India win the event.

Not only the T20I cricket, but Shreyas Iyer will also be returning to the Indian team on the test side as well. He is all set to be picked in the team for the series against West Indies. It remains to be seen how he will fare in the longest format of the game.

The Asia Cup begins on 9th September and will run till the end of the month. After that test series against the West Indies will begin on 2nd October.
