The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 schedule, and the tournament is all set to start from January 09 to February 05, 2026. This is going to be the fourth edition of the WPL, featuring five teams, and it will be played at two different venues in India.

Mumbai Indians are the defending champions of the Women’s Premier League, and under the leadership of Harmanpreet Kaur, MI Women will be looking to lift another title. Mumbai Indians Women (2023, 2025) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women (2024) are the only teams that have won the WPL trophy.

Women’s Premier League 2026 Format:

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 will be played in a double round-robin format, which means each team plays every other team twice. A total of 20 group stage matches will be played, and then the top 3 teams will qualify for the playoffs.

However, the top team in the group stage will secure a direct ticket to the WPL 2026 Final, and the Eliminator will be played between the teams finishing in 2nd and 3rd spot. The winner of the Eliminator round will move to the WPL 2026 Final.

The WPL 2026 will be played at two different venues in India. The first 11 matches will be played at DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the last 11 matches including the playoffs will be played at Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara.
