RCB IPL 2024 Strongest Playing11, RCB SWOT Analysis IPL 2024: In search of their maiden IPL title, the Faf du Plessis-led RCB will once again begin their campaign in the Tata IPL 2024 on March 22 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). RCB will play out the opening fixture against CSK at MA Chidambaram Stadium for the upcoming IPL 2024. RCB couldn’t secure a playoff berth in the last held IPL 2023. They finished sixth in the table with seven wins and as many losses in 14 games.

With an aim to get their hands on the illustrious IPL title, RCB will start afresh with some valuable additions to their previous squad. The Franchise added a few players to bolster their squad for the IPL 2024.

RCB shelled out a whopping INR 11.5 Crores to get the services of Alzarri Joseph during the mini-auctions, which turned out to be their biggest purchase of the season. The other additions to the team were, Yash Dayal (Rs. 5 crore), Tom Curran (Rs. 1.5 crore), Lockie Ferguson (Rs. 2 crore), Swapnil Singh (Rs. 20 lakh) and Saurav Chauhan (Rs. 20 lakh).

Bangalore’s strength lies in their batting unit, especially in the top order. The likes of Faf du Plessis, Glenn Maxwell, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik have become the face of the team’s batting, alongside lesser-known players like Rajat Patidar, Mahipal Lomror and Anuj Rawat among others.

The team has often found itself in a problematic state due to over-reliance on the top order. Over the years, the contributions of RCB’s top order have been enormous as compared to their middle order. However, the team has found some success in shifting the responsibilities to the middle order to some extent.

The addition of all-rounder Cameron Green will play a huge role in RCB’s batting lineup. The Aussie will be bestowed with the responsibility of finishing the innings.

RCB Weaknesses IPL 2024

Bowling is where RCB has some issues. With the release of the likes of Josh Hazlewood, Harshal Patel and Wanindu Hasaranga, the franchise was expected to bag some big names during the IPL 2024 auction. However, the only bowlers they could manage were – Alzarri Joseph, Tom Curran and Lokie Ferguson.

Moreover, the place for the specialist spinner on the side is still vacant with the release of Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga.

RCB’s pace battery will be led by Mohammad Siraj, who is quite dangerous on his day but lacks consistency.

All-rounder Cameron Green will have the opportunity to prove his worth in the RCB squad during the IPL 2024. The Aussie has been roped in with a lot of expectations and hopes, and if he manages to stand his ground with all the anticipation growing around, he will be a great asset to the team.

Opportunities will also be for the likes of Rajat Patidar and Mahipal Lomror, who have often shown their value to the team but haven’t been consistent performers.

RCB Threat IPL 2024

There isn’t any real threat to RCB’s approach in the IPL 2024. The only we could get was the retention of wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, which was quite surprising. Given his form dipped in the IPL 2023, Karthik was not anticipated to bag the deal, however, he got one from the RCB.
