Vivo IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals Jofra Archer to miss entire Vivo IPL 2021 season, ECB confirms.

Vivo IPL 2021: Rajasthan Royals (RR) and England Pacer Jofra Archer is all set to miss out on the entire fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) due to his elbow injury.

England Cricket Board (ECB) confirmed that the pacer was back in the nets and was bowling with high intensity.

“Archer returned to bowling this week with higher intensity, and the ECB and Sussex medical teams will continue to monitor his progress. Archer will now step up his training regime starting next week and will be in full training with Sussex,” ECB said in an official press release.

ECB further said that Archer will return to the cricket field in the period of next two weeks.

“It is expected that he will return to cricket in the next fortnight if he can continue to bowl and prepare pain-free. The ECB will confirm which matches he is expected to play in due course,” it said.

The premier pacer had to fly back home midway through the India-England series due to an elbow injury he sustained early this year. Archer had undergone the surgery and removed the glass fragment from his elbow.

Later it was revealed that Archer got a cut on his middle finger of his right hand before the India series.

As per the data given by ECB, it is almost certain that the pacer would only be able to take part in the County Championship in mid-May.

This is the third blow for the Rajasthan Royals (RR). Earlier, all rounder Ben Stokes sustained a fracture in his left index finger and Liam Livingstone pulled back from IPL 2021 due to bubble fatigue.
