Rajasthan Royals made a strong comeback in the Indian Premier League, registering their fifth win. In a low-scoring encounter, they beat Lucknow Super Giants by 40 runs at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Put into bat, Rajasthan struggled to go big and posted 159 for six, in response, Lucknow had a tough time with the bat and got all out for 119.

Yashasvi Jaiswal (22) took Rajasthan off to a brutal start, hitting a quick-fire 22. But his wicket opened the floodgates as Lucknow pacers wreaked havoc across the Rajasthan batting lineup, leaving them struggling at 77 for five.

Riyan Parag (20) and Shimron Hetmyer (22) and Donovan Ferreira (20) struggled to score freely and lost their wickets after starts. But, thanks to Ravindra Jadeja (43*), who played a valiant hand and ensured that his team posted a fighting total.

Shubham Dubey (19*) also played a crucial hand in the end, adding 49 runs with Jadeja. Thanks to Jadeja-Dubey's partnership, Rajasthan posted a total of 159 for six.

Just when it seemed it would be an easy chase for Lucknow, Rajasthan bowlers had different plans. Ayush Badoni, Rishabh Pant and Aiden Markram lost their wickets for ducks to see themselves reeling at 11 for three.

Mitchell Marsh (55) and Nicholas Pooran (22) tried to bail the team out of trouble, adding 43 runs for the fourth wicket. Marsh went on to hit a half-century but didn’t get support from others and ultimately ended up losing his wicket in the 16th over.

Rajasthan kept taking wickets at regular intervals and ended Lucknow’s innings on 119 to win the clash by 40 runs.
