Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar lavishes praise on Indian cricket and reveals that a good chunk of Pakistani people are fond of certain batters and bowlers from India. He further stated that the people of Pakistan genuinely appreciate the BCCI and the Indian cricket team for their efforts and the performances it gives in the field of cricket. 

While speaking to Zee media, Akhtar said that the likes of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma are openly admired by the Pakistani’s. The former speedster further stated that people in Pakistan treat swashbuckling opener, Rohit Sharma, with much more respect than Virat Kohli. 

“Today, there are no Pakistanis who say that India does not have a good team. They appreciate it openly. They consider Virat Kohli is great player and Rohit Sharma even greater. People here in Pakistan say, ‘he is the Inzamam-Ul-Haq of India’. People appreciate Rishabh Pant, for the way he had played in Australia. Then there is Suryakumar Yadav. He is being appreciated too. So, Pakistan holds a very good narrative about India,” Akhtar told Zee News.

Shoaib Akhtar hasn’t been a divider when it comes to making comments and expressing his views in the India-Pakistan matches. He even cleared his stance that he makes valid points and doesn’t support any unbalanced criticisms. 

The 46-years old further said that he is a fortunate Pakistani who is loved by several Indians. With the help of his Youtube channel, Akhtar expresses his views on the current activities held in the field of cricket for which he is loved by several peoples including Indians.

“If you look at my videos, they are not on the ground of hate. I believe that as a former cricketer, a brand ambassador and as a human being, that my comments should be balanced. People say that the comments I make is to make money. That is not true. I have so many fans in India. I am a lucky Pakistani who Indian love so much. There is no doubt about that. I don’t want to hurt their sentiments or mine,” Akhtar pointed out.

Team India will clash with Pakistan on 24th October at the Dubai International Stadium to begin their ICC T20 World Cup 2021 journey. The two sides will renew the mother of all battles as the players of the two sides shows up for the marquee clash.

It is noteworthy that India is the undisputed king when it comes to defeating Pakistan in T20 World Cup matches. The Men in Blues have hammered the Pakistani’s five times in the rivalry while one match resulted in a draw. Pakistan is yet to register a win against India in the format.
