Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has named his Team India captain after Rohit Sharma. What caught the attention of many was he didn’t name Hardik Pandya to take that job. The all-rounder notably is the vice-captain of the team and is leading the team in the absence of Rohit.
Harbhajan Singh instead went with Sanju Samson. The former Indian cricketer believes that the Rajasthan Royals skipper should be groomed as the next India captain and should be part of the team for the T20 World Cup 2024.
Harbhajan Singh’s comment came after Sanju Samson guided Rajasthan Royals to another win in the IPL 2024. The keeper-batter took his team to the 9-wicket win and won their 7th game of the season, inching closer to playoffs, having bagged 14 points already.

Rajasthan Royals produced a dominant performance with the ball and bat against Mumbai Indians. They restricted the Hardik Pandya-led side to a total of 179 runs and then it was Yashasvi Jaiswal’s show at the Sawaimansingh Stadium in Rajasthan.
The young batter slammed a magnificent ton and took his team home with his unbeaten 104 runs knock. Skipper Sanju Samson also played a valiant hand of unbeaten 38 runs as Rajasthan Royals chased the target with 8 balls to spare.

Harbhajan Singh after the win of Rajasthan Royals over Mumbai Indians was elated. He lauded Yashasvi Jaiswal for his sensational outing with the bat and claimed that Sanju Samson should walk directly into the T20 World Cup squad. He also backed him to be the next skipper. Taking to his Twitter account, he explained:
