Chennai Super Kings (CSK) keeper-batter MS Dhoni was at his brutal best in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 game against Delhi Capitals. The former skipper of the team set the stage on fire and played a magnificent innings even though it came in a losing cause.

Chennai Super Kings were down and dusted in the chase of 192 runs and it seemed that they would lose the game pretty quickly. But MS Dhoni revived the hopes of fans and brought his team back into the game with his brutal power-hitting as soon as he came out to bat.

MS Dhoni started off his innings with a four and after that didn’t look back. He took bowlers to cleaners and brought his vintage best. The keeper-batted showed no mercy on the bowlers and made sure that he made the crowd berserk at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam. 

MS Dhoni looked in great touch and hardly put a foot wrong in his innings. The keeper-batter muscled the ball all over the park. But couldn’t take his team home as in the end target was left too much. Mukesh Kumar executed his plans brilliantly and won the match for his team by 20 runs.

Ms Dhoni ended with the innings of unbeaten 37 runs off just 16 balls. He batted with a strike rate of over 231 and hit 4 sixes and 3 fours in his innings. His valiant knock ensured that Chennai Super Kings lost the game by a small margin.

After his unbeaten 37 runs knock against Delhi Capitals, Ms Dhoni shattered quite a few records in the T20s. He became the first Asian wicket-keeper batter to complete 7000 runs in the shortest format of the game in his career.

MS Dhoni also became the batter with 20 or more runs in an over among Indians. Apart from this, he also became the first wicket-keeper batter in the history of the Indian Premier League to complete 5000 runs. He also is the first batter to complete 100 Sixes in 19th & 20th over in IPL.
