SAvsIND: Jasprit Bumrah twisted his ankle severely during day 3 of SAvsIND 1st test

Jasprit Bumrah twisted his ankle severely during day 3 of SAvsIND 1st test: In an unfortunate incident Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has severely injured his ankle while bowling in the 1st innings against South Africa on day 3. The incident took place in the 11th over of the South African innings when Bumrah was bowling to Rassie van der Dussen. 

In his followthrough, Bumrah twisted his ankle and looked in tremendous pain after that. The physio immediately came to the middle and attended to the injured. 

“Jasprit Bumrah has suffered a right ankle sprain while bowling in the first innings. The medical team is monitoring him at the moment,” said BCCI giving an update on Jasprit’s injury.

The statement further added that Shreyas Iyer has stepped into the field as his substitute.

“Shreyas Iyer is on the field as his substitute.”

Jasprit though rushed back to the dugout in immense pain, but he seems fine and was up again to step into the field. The Indian medical team monitored the pacer and did some bandages.

SAvsIND 1st Test Scores:

It is noteworthy that Jasprit Bumrah provided India with the initial breakthrough. He picked up the wicket of the Protea skipper Dean Elgar in the first over itself. 

As of now, South Africa is riding on the back of wicketkeeper-batsman Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma. Both the players have scored 33 and 31 runs respectively. 

Mohammad Shami has picked up two wickets of Aiden Markram and Keegan Petersen. While Mohammad Siraj picked up the wicket of Rassie van der Dussen.
