IPL 2026 Captains List: RCB, CSK, MI & All Teams Confirmed Captains List

The new season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is all set to start from March 28, 2026. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the first 20 matches only due to the state elections in some regions.

The defending Champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be playing the first match of the IPL 2026 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on March 28, 2026. Generally, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) start the new season of the Indian Premier League, but this time, RCB and SRH will be playing the first game of the tournament.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 is going to be a blockbuster season as many teams are looking quite strong on paper, and it’s going to be a close contest. RCB will be looking for their second title, while MI and CSK will be looking to add their sixth trophy to the cabinet. SRH and PBKS also have plenty of quality players, so they are also going to give tough competition.

New Captain Faces in the IPL 2026

Ishan Kisan will be leading the SRH as interim captain as Pat Cummins will be unavailable for a couple of matches, while Riyan Parag is the new captain of the Rajasthan Royals after Sanju Samson was traded to Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Ajinkya Rahane will continue to lead Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR); however, some reports suggested that Rinku Singh might emerge as the new skipper of the team, but the management decided to go with the experience.
