IPL 2024: Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by 20 runs in the match no.4 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at Sawai Mansingh Cricket Stadium in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Player of the match was Sanju Samson who played an exceptional inning of 82 runs in 52 balls. It was a great comeback by Skipper Sanju as his last edition wasn’t get well.
The Fantastic start by Rajasthan Royals in the TATA IPL 2024 as played phenomenal cricket in their first match of the tournament. Sanju Samson played a responsible and match-winning knock whereas bowlers also played exceptional cricket as they kept taking wickets so that a big partnership could not be formed by LSG batters.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) played poor cricket as they failed to perform with both bat and ball. However, KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran made a decent partnership but it was enough to win the match. Skipper KL Rahul scored 58 runs in 44 balls whereas Nichola Pooran scored 64 runs in 41 balls.
IPL 2024 RR vs LSG Match Highlights:
Rajasthan Royals (RR) won the toss and they decided to first however, this decision turned in the favour as RR had a decent start of 54 runs in the powerplay with the loss of two wickets. However, Skipper Sanju Samson and Riyan Parag made a crucial partnership of 93 runs for the third wicket in the first inning.
Sanju Samson played a crucial knock of 82 runs in 52 balls with 3 fours and 6 sixes whereas Riyan Parag scored 43 runs in 29 balls with 1 fours and 3 sixes. Skipper Sanju played exceptional cricket as he stood till last and led his team to a good total of 193 runs in 20 overs.
Rajasthan Royals played superb cricket in their first match of TATA IPL 2024 while batting first. From Lucknow Super Giants bowling department, Naveen-ul-Haq took two wickets whereas Mohsin Khan and Ravi Bishnoi took one wicket each.
In the second Inning, LSG had a poor start as they lost three wickets and scored only 47 runs in the powerplay. However, later in the middle overs KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran made a partnership of 85 runs for the 5th wicket. KL Rahul scored 58 runs in 44 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes, however, if he stays till the last over then LSG might register their first victory.
From Rajasthan Royals bowling department, Trent Boult took two wickets whereas Nandre Burger, R Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each.
