IPL 2024: Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans (GT) have named Sandeep Warrier as the replacement for the injured Mohammad Shami for the upcoming Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) will be without the services of Sri Lankan pacer Dilshan Madushanka and they have roped in Kwena Maphaka as the replacement player.

Team India’s Ace pacer Mohammad Shami is currently in his rehabilitation period at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. The pacer had suffered an injury in his right heel during the ODI World Cup 2023, for which he underwent surgery a few weeks ago. Shami has already been ruled out of the Tata IPL 2024.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians (MI) have named 17-year-old South African pacer Kewna Maphaka as the replacement for Sri Lankan Dilshan Madushanka. Maphaka was part of South Africa’s campaign in the Under-19 World Cup recently and was named ‘Player of the Tournament’ as well.

Earlier it was reported that Madushanka, who was crucial for MI’s plans in the IPL 2024, will walk into the team in the second half, however, now it has been confirmed that the pacer won’t take part in the IPL proceedings due to his injury, which he suffered during Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh fixture.
