IPL 2024:?Punjab Kings defeated?Delhi Capitals in the match no.2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) by 4 wickets at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh Stadium in Mullanpur, Punjab. The Player of the match was Sam Curran, who played a phenomenal knock of 63 runs in just 47 balls. However, Delhi Capitals also played good cricket, especially with bat but they need to improve their bowling department whereas Punjab started the TATA IPL 2024 with a winning momentum.

Punjab Kings fought well but they chased the target of 175 runs as Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone played a crucial innings of 63 and 38 runs, respectively. PBKS had a great start as they scored 62 runs in the powerplay with a loss of only a wicket, however, Sam Curran batted well in the middle overs and led his team in a good position.

Delhi Capitals showed good cricket in their first match of TATA IPL 2024 but they failed to win the match against PBKS due to poor bowling. Shai Hope and Abhishek Porel batted well and scored 33 and 32 runs, respectively however, DC need to play better cricket in the middle overs as they lost a couple of wickets in the middle overs in this game.

Delhi Capitals (DC) batted first and they had a decent start as DC scored 54 runs in the powerplay. Sahi Hope and David Warner scored 33 and 29 runs, respectively however, they lost a couple of wickets in the middle overs. Rishabh Pant scored only 18 runs in 13 balls in his first match after a long time. 

In the end, youngster Abhishek Porel played a crucial knock of 32 runs in just 10 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. The Fantastic inning by Abhishek led Delhi Capitals to a good score of 194 runs in the 20 overs. From the PBKS bowling department, Arshdeep Singh and Harshal Patel took two wickets each in the first inning for their team.

In the second Inning, Punjab Kings batted well as they started aggressively and scored 62 runs in the first six overs. However, Delhi quite dominated the PBKS in the middle overs but later on, Sam Curran and Liam Livingstone made a crucial partnership of 67 runs.

Sam Curran scored 63 runs in 47 balls with 6 fours and 1 six whereas Liam Livingstone scored 38 runs in 21 balls with 2 fours and 3 six. Both the batters led PBKS to a victory. From the Delhi Capitals bowling department, Kuldeep Yadav and Khalil Ahmed took two wickets each whereas Ishant Sharma took one wicket.
