In what has been the latest development as per the reports in Danik Jagraon, it is learned that former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is all set to leave Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as a mentor for the forthcoming seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The reports have suggested that Gautam Gambhir himself has expressed his desire to leave the franchise and has been in talks with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) management. There were a lot of rumours about this last month but they didn’t prove out to be true.

But now a source close to Danik Jagraon has confirmed Gautam Gambhir’s decision to leave the franchise. He said: “After Andy Flower, Gautam Gambhir will now leave the IPL franchise… I can’t say anything further beyond this.”

If the reports related to Gautam Gambhir in talks with Kolkata Knight Riders turn out to be true, it’ll be a homecoming for the former Indian cricketer. He joined KKR in 2011 and made them amongst the most successful franchises in the league.

Lucknow Super Giants recently roped in former Australian head coach Justin Langer as their head coach for the next season of the tournament. The development was confirmed by the franchise on their social media handles.

This came after the two-year contract of Andy Flower with Lucknow Super Giants concluded after the IPL 2023 and the franchise parted ways with him. This paved way for the franchise to look out for a new coach and as per the reports in Cricbuzz it is learned that Gautam Gambhir suggested the name of Justin Langer.

This will be his maiden IPL stint in the league as a coach. He has had great success as coach of the team as he led Australia to the T20 World Cup 2021 win and also under him Perth Scorchers to three Big Bash League titles in the first four years.
