Last night, Punjab Kings beat KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants in a low-scoring contest. PBKS won the match by 2 wickets. KL Rahul has come to IPL with a dashing 74 off 56.
PBKS skipper Sam Curran won the toss and opted to bowl first. A strong opening stand of 53 runs between skipper KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers and 74 from 56 balls were the only positives in the first innings for LSG. Lucknow put 159 at the end of 20 overs.
In response, due to the unavailability of Shikhar Dhawan, Atharva Taide got a chance to play his first IPL match but couldn’t make any impact on the stage and got out on a duck. Matt Short and Sikandar RAZA were too good in the middle overs for LSG and scored 37 and 57 runs respectively. Towards the end, Shahrukh Khan played a crucial inning of 23 runs in just 10 balls to take PBKS over the target.
