After winning the flip of the coin, Rohit Sharma decided to bowl first. Mumbai Indians were off to a fantastic start straightaway with dangerous David Warner and Mitchell Marsh departing in just four overs. Mumbai bowlers continued building pressure and picked up the wicket of Prithvi Shaw and Sarfaraz Khan as well, reducing Delhi to 50/4 in the 9th over.

A fine partnership between skipper Rishabh Pant and Rovman Powell helped in Delhi’s resurgence in the match, however, a brilliant bowling performance from Mumbai restricted Delhi to just 159 runs in 20 overs.

Delhi too got the ideal start with the early dismissal of Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma. But young Ishan Kishan and Dewald Bravis cautiously kept the scoreboard ticking.

Wicketkeeper batter Ishan Kishan lost his wicket just two short of his well-made half-century while Dewald Brevis couldn’t resist much and lost his wicket too at a score of 37 runs.

Tilak Verma and Tim David played match-winning knocks for Mumbai. While Verma played a second fiddle to rotate the strike, David’s aggression wreaked havoc and blew Delhi away from the contest. David scored blazing 34 runs in just 11 deliveries. To sum things up for the five-time winners, Ramandeep Singh played a few shots and helped Mumbai achieve the target in 19.1 overs.
