IPL 2022 Points Table, Orange Cap, Purple Cap: The Faf du Plessis led Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) continued their fantastic performance in the ongoing edition of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) as they successfully conquered the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in last night’s fixture at the DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.

Faf led his side from the front and amassed 96 runs in 64 balls which included two sixes and 11 boundaries. Though he couldn’t get substantial support from the other end, players like Glenn Maxwell, Shahbaz Ahmad and Dinesh Karthik played little cameos to help RCB post a total of 181 runs in 20 overs.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) couldn’t get off to a fine start. KL Rahul tried to play captain’s knock, but he was soon dismissed for 30 runs. All-rounder Krunal Pandya remained the highest run-scorer for Lucknow with 42 runs in 28 balls while no other batter could score more than 30 against RCB.

In the end, it was Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) that emerged triumphant against Lucknow Super Giants by 18 runs.

With the win, RCB have climbed up to the second spot in the points table and are just below Gujarat Titans (GT). Faf du Plessis and Co have grabbed 10 rating points from seven matches.

Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) slipped down to the fourth place with four wins and three losses in its seven fixtures. 

The points table is led by Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans (GT) with five wins and just a solitary loss in six Tata IPL 2022 outings. The Ahmedabad based franchise has the best net run rate amongst all the nine other IPL teams.

RCB skipper Faf du Plessis has again stormed back into the top three after his match-winning 96 runs knock against Lucknow Super Giants. Du Plessis now stands in the third position with a total score of 250 runs in seven innings.

Lucknow skipper, on the other side, retained his second position despite not scoring healthy runs against RCB. KL Rahul has a total of 265 runs in seven outings in the Tata IPL 2022.

Meanwhile, the top place is firmly grabbed by Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener batter Jos Buttler who has already slammed two centuries in the ongoing edition of the Tata Indian Premier League. Buttler has a total of 375 runs against his name in six matches.

No movement is recorded in the standings in the Tata IPL 2022 Purple Cap chart except for RCB pacer Josh Hazlewood, who has entered into top ten after his stunning performance in the match against LSG.

Hazlewood scalped four crucial wickets and is now placed in the tenth position with a total of eight wickets. 

Meanwhile, Yuzvendra Chahal continues to lead the race with 17 wickets in six matches followed by SRH’s T Natarajan (12 wickets), Delhi Capitals Kuldeep Yadav (11 wickets) and Luckonw’s Avesh Khan (11 wickets).
