IPL Governing Council (IGC) was planning to add 2 more IPL team before IPL 2021 auction, but now as BCCI decided you will see 10 teams playing in IPL 2022. In case 2 more new teams added numbers of league match will increase. Also Overseas player’s quota rule increase from 4 to 5 in IPL 2021.

From BCI sources IPL 2021 likely to start 9 April in India as the England tour of India is to finish by 28 March. IPL 2021 Auction happened on February 18. All 8 IPL teams shared the retain and releases players list with BCCI. BCC also release the IPL 2021 retained and released players list.
