India Test Squad OUT: Gill Captain, Pant Vice Captain - Jadeja, Bumrah, Kuldeep All Included

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a strong 15-member Test squad for the upcoming two-match series against South Africa, which is set to start from November 14, 2025, at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The Big news is Rishabh Pant returning as vice-captain after injury during the India vs England Test series earlier this year.
Shubman Gill will be leading India's test side, whereas senior players like Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd. Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav retained their spot in the team. With the experience, some young talents have also been added to the squad like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sai Sudharsan, and Dhruv Jurel.
India’s test squad for the test series against South Africa has both depth in batting and versatility in bowling, especially the spin duo of Jadeja and Kuldeep. However, Axar Patel is also going to play a crucial role as both matches will be played in India.
Unfortunately, Hardik Pandya will miss this test series as he is still recovering from a quadriceps injury that happened during the Asia Cup. Therefore, Nitish Kumar Reddy is part of the squad in the absence of Hardik Pandya as a medium-pacer all-rounder.
Rishabh Pant Returns as Vice-Captain:
Rishabh Pant returned to India’s test squad after recovering from a foot injury sustained in the England series. Pant’s absence from the test squad was clearly seen in the last test series. Now, he will support Gill as deputy and help the young players.
