India has officially announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to start on February 7, 2026. Now, the focus will be on making the strongest possible Playing XI for the upcoming tournament.

India has officially announced its 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is scheduled to start on February 7, 2026. The biggest shock was that India's two of the best youngsters, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal, aren’t in the squad. However, The Squad is balanced and one of the strongest compared to the other teams.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 is set to be held in India and Sri Lanka. Now, the focus will be on making the strongest possible Playing XI for the upcoming tournament. The majority of players are almost confirmed in the Playing XI, but Sanju Samson or Ishan Kisan to open and Rinku Singh in the lower middle order are some of the big questions.

Suryakumar Yadav will be leading the India Men’s National Cricket team in the T20 World Cup 2026. India is the defending champion, and they will be aiming to retain the title on their home soil. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma were part of the last World Cup winning squad, but now, they have retired from the T20I format.

Why is Shubman Gill not in the T20 World Cup 2026 Squad?

Shubman Gill wasn’t performing well in the T20I format for quite a long time; therefore, the BCCI decided to drop him from the T20 World Cup Squad. Gill was also not part of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, and now, this will be the second time he has not been part of another T20 World Cup.
