IND vs AFG: Rohit Sharma to captain in Afghanistan T20Is; Selection in T20 World Cup will depend on IPL form - Reports?

Rohit Sharma is not only set to return to T20I setup but also captain Team India in the shortest format of the game. As per the reports in Sports Today, it is learned that the right-hander is all set to lead the team in the upcoming series against Afghanistan. 

India and Afghanistan will lock horns with each other in the three-match series, to be played from 11th to 17th January. The series is all set to mark the return of not only Rohit Sharma but also Virat Kohli. The duo hasn?t played a single game in the format since the last T20 World Cup.

Rohit Sharma return a could be a potential hit that he will captain India in the T20 World Cup 2024. But the recent reports in PTI have suggested something else. It is learned that Rohit and Virat Kohli will be picked for the Afghanistan series but there is no certainty about their place in the World Cup. 

The reports added that the selection of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the T20 World Cup 2024 will be depend based on the form they will show in IPL. Therefore for them, to maintain their spot in the team, the duo needs to be at their best in the World Cup.?

IND vs AFG: BCCI to announce India squad for Afghanistan series on Sunday; Rohit Sharma set to be included 

The India squad for the Afghanistan series is keeping everyone waiting. The team will answer a lot of questions and many are waiting for the same. The reports have suggested BCCI will announce the squad on Sunday (17th January) after a meeting in Mumbai.
