IND vs SA 2nd Test - India's Strongest Playing 11 After Gill's Injury that Can Beat South Africa in Guwahati and level the series

The second Test of the IDFC FIRST BANK series between South Africa and India will be held at Guwahati's Baraspara Cricket Ground from November 22. After a heavy defeat in Kolkata, India's captain Shubman Gill’s participation is uncertain due to neck discomfort, with Nitish Kumar Reddy included as a backup. India may also drop Axar Patel and add another batsman, either Sai Sudharsan or Devdutt Padikkal. The likely playing XI includes KL Rahul, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and others.

The second and final Test-Match of the IDFC FIRST BANK Test series between South Africa & India will be played at Guwahati's Baraspara Cricket Ground from November 22nd onwards. Team India is on the back foot after suffering a humiliating defeat in Kolkata at the Eden Gardens Stadium. Furthermore, the question of captain Shubman Gill's participation remains. The selectors have included all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy in the squad for the second Test. Reports suggest Nitish has been included as Shubman's backup.

Shubman Gill experienced some neck discomfort while batting during the Test match at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, after which he left the field. He did not return to bat, and the team played with 10 players in the second innings as well. Head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed on Sunday that Gill's condition was still being assessed.

If Shubman doesn't play, will Nitish get a place?

If Shubman Gill doesn't play in the second Test, it will be a major blow for India. Team India will miss his batting more than his captaincy. Reports suggest that Nitish Kumar Reddy, who has joined the team and is practicing in Kolkata, could be included in the playing eleven.

Will Axar Patel get dropped from the Team?

Team India could make another major change to their playing XI for the second Test in Guwahati, starting November 22nd. Head coach Gautam Gambhir may field an additional batsman in place of spin all-rounder Axar Patel. Either Sai Sudarshan or Devdutt Padikkal could get a chance. Washington Sundar played at number 3 in the Kolkata Test. If either Sudarshan or Padikkal plays, Sundar could again be seen batting lower down the order.
