ICC World Cup 2023 will begin from 5th October in India. The preparations for the tournaments are in full flow and teams have started arriving in the country for the tournament. The event though hasn’t started but is keeping the excitement right up there. 

Amongst all the teams who have arrived in India for the ICC World Cup 2023, the Pakistan team has received a grand reception from the Indian fans. The Babar Azam-led side arrived in India on Wednesday (27th September) late in the evening and the crowd in India erupted in joy. 

Pakistan left for Dubai on Wednesday morning and after a 9-hour layover there, they reached India at night. As they arrived at Hyderabad airport, fans were chanting their names and were present in huge numbers at the airport. 

Pakistan team then had a traditional welcome at their hotel in Hyderabad as hotel staff felicitated them. PCB  posted pictures of their welcome at social media and gave everyone glimpses of their welcome in India.

Pakistan didn’t get their visas on time, having applied for them just after the Asia Cup 2023 concluded. The Men in Green were to travel to Dubai as a part of a team bonding trip before flying to India for the ICC World Cup 2023.

But delays in visas forced them to forge their plans. Following this Pakistan Cricket Board wrote to ICC. They highlighted the poor treatment of their players and also questioned if BCCI had provided a written guarantee related to providing visas to all participating nations.

However, despite all the fuss, the Pakistan cricket team has received their Indian visas for the ICC World Cup 2023 48 hours ahead of their departure.

Pakistan will be plying trade in the warmup games first ahead of the tournament. They will face New Zealand on September 29. They will then take on Australia in another warmup fixture on 3rd October. Before opening their campaign against the Netherlands on 6th October in Hyderabad.
