He said that after the loss he had no idea what happened with him and even asked his wife if he watched the bad dream about losing the game.?
One of the most disappointing losses for the Indian cricket team came during the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 against Australia. The match between the two teams took place on 19th November at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and it was expected that it would be a happy ending for India.
However, that wasn?t the case as Australia broke the hearts of many Indian fans and cliched their 6th World Cup title. Team
India under the leadership of Rohit Sharma was exceptional throughout the entire tournament as they looked like red hot favourites to win the game.?
India had a sensational outing in the league stage of the World Cup. They won 9 out of their 9 games in the tournament and in the semi-final they thrashed New Zealand. With the way they played, they looked clear favourites to win the final.
But it wasn?t meant to be as it was another ICC title loss for them. The efforts of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammad Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and others all went in vain as Australia emerged victorious on the big day.

Months after the World Cup final loss, Rohit Sharma opened up about the defeat. He stated that he had no idea about what happened on the night of the final. He added that it took him 2-3 days to realise that they lost the game and it will take them 4 more years for another chance. Speaking about the same to Adidas, he explained:?
?When I woke up the next day after the World Cup Final, I had no idea what happened last night. I was discussing it with my wife & told 'Whatever happened last night was a bad dream, right? I think the final is tomorrow. It took me 2,3 days to realise that we lost. Another 4 years for another chance".
Rohit Sharma is currently leading India's team in the T20 World Cup 2024 and will be having another opportunity to have his hands on the World Cup.
