Pakistan cricket Team are having a torrid time in the ICC World Cup 2023. The Men in Green are on the verge of elimination from the tournament. The Babar Azam-led side has faced a lot of criticism for their performances in the tournament as they haven’t batted and bowled well.

Pakistan recently faced a disappointing 1-wicket loss against South Africa and achieved an unwanted record to their name. The Men in Green for the first time in the history of the World Cups have lost four consecutive matches. Also they for the first time since 1999 lost to Proteas in World Cups.

Pakistan batted first and couldn’t really get going with the bat. Both the openers perished early yet again and the onus was again on skipper Babar Azam. The captain albeit smashed a vital half-century but couldn’t really get going as he was back after a good start.

A  handy contribution from Saud Shakeel (52), Shadab Khan (43) and Mohammad Nawaz (24) powered Pakistan to a total of 271 runs. With the ball, they picked wickets at regular intervals but couldn’t apply pressure on the batters.

Pakistan was on the verge of winning but failed to succumb to the pressure as they lost the game by the margin of just 1 wicket. The Men in Green started the tournament on a high note as they thumped the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in two successive games up front.

But after that, nothing went their way. They faced thrashing losses against India and Australia. If this was not enough they also were pounded by Pakistan as well followed by South Africa. Their chances to qualify for the semi-finals and are very loss and they would be hoping to make a comeback.

Pakistan have just a 7% chances of qualifying for the ICC World Cup 2023. However, they aren’t completely out of the race as they still can qualify. The Men in Green have three matches remaining against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England. To have a ray of hope, they first need to win these three games.

They need to make sure that they win their remaining games of ICC World Cup 2023 by big margins. After that, they would be dependent on the other teams as well. They would want Australia to lose all their three remaining games and New Zealand to win all their games. If the results come in their favour they might have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals.
