ICC World Cup 2023: The mega event of the cricketing world of just 16 days away from us. The festival of cricket will begin from the 5th of October in India with the final set to take place on the 19th of November. The tournament opener will be played between England and New Zealand at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. With all the hype around ICC World Cup 2023, former Australian cricketer Adam Gilchrist has picked his four semi-finalists for the tournament. What caught the attention of many was he left out runners-up of the ICC World Cup 2019 New Zealand. 

Adam picked Australia as his first semi-finalist. The kind of cricket Australia has played with the pedigree of players that they have, it’s fair to say that the Pat Cummins-led side will be one of the hot favourites to win the ICC World Cup 2023. They have played well in Indian conditions and all the eyes will be on them. 

The former Australian cricketer picked India as his second semi-finalist. the Rohit Sharma-led side recently won the Asia Cup 2023 and they would be playing in home conditions which makes them another favourites. He also picked England as one of his top teams for the ICC World Cup 2023.

The brand of cricket that England have played is something many teams have tried. They have been extremely successful and it’ll be no surprise if we see them in the final.  Gilchrist picked Pakistan as his fourth semi-finalist for the tournament. 

Their performance in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 was staggering. Pakistan made it into the Super Four stage and was quite dominant in the league stage. Their pace attack is something that sets them apart from other teams in the world.
