ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: the ICC have announced the schedule for the Women’s T20 main event which is set to be played on October 2024. Sitting in Group A, India will play their first match against New Zealand on 4 October.

Bangladesh got an opportunity to host the Women’s T20 World Cup and that is a big moment and achievement for Women’s Cricket in Bangladesh. The Women’s T20 World Cup fixture launch event took place at Dhaka, Bangladesh which was attended by Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina and President of BCB(W) Mr. Nazmul Hassan Geoff Allardice, ICC CEO alongside the skipper Harmanpreet Kaur and Nigar Sultana.
India Women are currently on a tour of Bangladesh for a T20I series where India are dominating over the home side in the 5-match T20I series with a 0-3 scoreline.
The Women’s ICC T20 event will kick start on 3 October with England Women taking on South Africa Women. The tournament will run for a total of 18 days where the top 10 teams will play as many as 23 games to decide the Women’s T20 World Champion.
There are two groups announced by ICC and the 10 teams are divided into these two groups. Here are the group details:

India are placed in group A alongside Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan. They will play their first game agaisnt New Zealand at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet. In fact, all the matches of India Women’s are scheduled to be played at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet.
