DC’s Mitchell Marsh still injured, likely to miss 3-4 more matches in IPL 2022: Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals have been amidst injury concerns of late. In the latest development, it has been learnt that all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is expected to take a couple of weeks time more to come to his peak fitness.

As per the reports available, Mitchell Marsh is yet to recover from his hip injury, which he sustained during Australia’s tour of Pakistan last month. The premier all-rounder was subsequently ruled out of the remainder of the Aussie’s tour of Pakistan and then travelled to India to undergo his rehab.

Delhi Capitals bagged Mitchell Marsh’s services by shelling out INR 6.5 Crores during the player’s auction held in February.

Earlier it was expected that Delhi Capitals would call for a replacement for injured Mitchell Marsh, however, the franchise integrated him into the squad and continued his rehab program with the physios.

Notably, Ricky Ponting, who is the head coach of Delhi Capitals, earlier said that Marsh would be available for selection in DC’s game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 10, however, the all-rounder didn’t play the match which raised questions on the fitness of the cricketer.

A report said that Mitchell Marsh is yet to reach his full recovery and is likely to miss at least 3 to 4 more IPL matches.

“Mitch is still being assessed. There’s some time before our next game, so we may get a clearer idea closer to that,” a source in the know was quoted as saying by ‘The Telegraph’.

Though Delhi Capitals won’t be concerned a lot with the news, they will require the services of the Aussie all-rounder at some point through the IPL 2022. The more game time Mitchell Marsh will get, the more good results he is capable of getting.

Delhi Capitals have already registered two wins and as many losses from four IPL 2022 games. Rishabh Pant and his troops defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in its last encounter and returned back to winning ways following two consecutive defeats.

DC will lock horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in its next match on April 16 in the Wankhede Stadium.
