Cummins, Hazlewood, Maxwell and others rested for Pakistan white ball series.

IPL 2022: Cricket Australia (CA) on Tuesday confirmed the development that five of their top players have been rested for the forthcoming white-ball leg against Pakistan. The likes of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Starc and David Warner have been dropped from the limited-overs squad against Pakistan.

Despite that, the aforementioned players won’t be available for the Indian Premier League (IPL) opening week due to Cricket Australia’s policy of now allowing its contracted players to feature in any cricket league when their national duties are on.

But in the meantime, the cricketers can travel to India and undergo their mandatory quarantine protocols and be available to play in the IPL from April 6.

Australia is set to travel to Pakistan for the historic series in March. Down Under will be hosted by Pakistan for three Test matches along with as many ODIs and a single T20I. The tour will begin on March 4 with test matches being played at Rawalpindi, Karachi and Lahore respectively.

Besides these, there are a couple of other Australian cricketers who have been picked up by the IPL franchise. The likes of Riley Meredith, Daniel Sams, Tim David and Nathan Coulter Nile will be available for the tournament once their state commitments are over.
