BREAKING!! Sanju Samson to CSK Back On Table! Chennai & RR Resume Talks as Trade Heats Up

Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are back on the table for trade talks on Sanju Samson. According to the reports, both franchises have started the negotiations ahead of the IPL 2026 Auction. RR and CSK also had discussions earlier but this time things are looking more positive and possibility of trade is high.
The IPL 2026 Retention deadline is on November 15, 2025; therefore, all the teams are aggressively in talks for trade as they have to submit their retained and released players list to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) before the deadline.
Reports suggest that MS Dhoni is also directly involved, along with other key CSK management members. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan, Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad, and head coach Stephen Fleming are set to have an internal strategic meeting around November 10-11. The final decision over the Sanju Samson trade is expected to be taken in that meeting.
A Top CSK Player could be part of the deal:
RR owner Manjor Badale has reportedly reached Mumbai and is evaluating options. The trade talk between CSK and RR looks serious this time, as a major CSK player might be swapped with Sanju Samson if the deal happens.
RR is exploring other options as well:
Rajasthan Royals are also in talks with other franchises like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and Delhi Capitals (DC). It’s now almost confirmed that Sanju Samson is leaving RR, and it’s just a matter of time; we will know his new franchise.
Why is Sanju Samson a Perfect Fit for CSK?
Sanju Samson is a proven leader; he has been leading RR for quite a long time. Chennai is interested in this trade because they wants a backup option of Ruturaj Gaikwad. CSK is in a transition phase, and MS Dhoni will play only a few more seasons, and they need face value. Sanju Samson will be the perfect choice for the Chennai Super Kings.
