As per the reports, Adani Group is interested in buying Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) however, if Adani buys RCB, it will become one of the biggest ownership deals in Indian cricket history.
Adar Poonawalla
Adar Poonawalla, the owner of Serum Institute of India, is also in the race to buy RCB. Recently, his tweet went viral on X.com - “At the right valuation, @RCBTweet is a great team.” Poonawalla owns the world’s largest vaccine making company, and according to Forbes, his worth is around $20 billion.
Nikhil Kamanth
As per the TOI report, Nikhil Kamanth also comes into the race to buy RCB, but he is not alone. A consortium including Nikhil, Pai, and Poonawalla might make a bid for the franchise. According to Forbes, Pai’s net worth is around $2.8 billion whereas Nikhil’s net worth is around $2.5 billion.
Parth Jindal
The Delhi Capitals owner Parth Jindal also interested in buying RCB, but the process is quite long. He needs to exit his current franchise, and then he can participate in the bidding process.
Who is Leading?
Right now, no one is ahead in the race, but there are two main contenders, Adani Group and Adar Poonawalla. RCB has the highest brand value among all IPL franchises at $269 million, and after winning the IPL title in 2025, their valuation has been significantly higher now.
