BCCI set to intervene as tensions between Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Gautam Gambhir flare up, dressing room atmosphere not great
In what has been the latest development, as per the reports in Dainik Jagran, it is learned that the dressing room atmosphere in the Indian ODI team is not good. Two veterans of the team in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not gelling well with the head coach Gautam Gambhir.
The reports in Ray Sportz also added that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have not talked to Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar since the Australia Tour. Also, the duo have been practising alone without the involvement of the head coach.
During the first IND vs SA ODI, there were a few things to notice as well. After both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli slammed runs, both were pretty animated and were seen celebrating each other’s success. Also, there were videos as well, where Kohli was seen staring at Gambhir.

The reports claimed that the dressing room atmosphere in Tests and T20Is teams is good but it is not great in the ODIs. This has been reported to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) as well and they will soon be holding the meeting.
The meeting is likely to take place after the T20I series against South Africa. There have been rumours are well which have stated that the disappointment in Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli is due to the way Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir removed Rohit as an ODI captain without any conversations.
Although, there is no official confirmation but rumours and reports have strongly suggested the same. It remains to be seen what decision BCCI will take after the meeting with the team management.
Coming to the first ODI between India and South Africa, the hosts won the opening match by 17 runs in Ranchi. Virat Kohli was the star with the bat as he hammered 135 runs, while Rohit Sharma also hit 57 runs.
