1. Pakistan’s formidable top order crumbled under pressure against India’s bowling department

The Pakistan batting line up which is highly dependent on the top order on most occasions had nothing to rely upon in the big match against India. Bhuvneshwar Kumar came up with an incredible bouncer to get rid of dangerous Babar Azam for just 10 early on in the innings and Fakhar Zaman too was dismissed cheaply by Avesh Khan for 10. 

Rizwan though stayed for long couldn’t play the big shots and the slow run rate soon had the better of him as well. Thus the Pakistani batting line up was totally bamboozled for a major part of the innings and couldn’t find its way back into the game.

2. Mohammed Nawaz and Naseem Shah kept Pakistan’s hopes alive with the ball

While defending a low total Pakistan needed its bowlers to be spot on right from the early stages of the innings and that’s exactly what happened. Debutant Naseem Shah dismissed KL Rahul for a duck in the first over itself and almost picked up Virat Kohli’s wicket too when he edged one to the slips and was dropped by Fakhar Zaman. 

Just when it seemed that Rohit and Kohli had stabilised the Indian innings after Rahul’s fall, spinner Naseem Shah came up with an incredible couple of overs in which he dismissed both the batsmen to put Pakistan right back on top. Mohammed Naseem later on in his second spell picked up in form Suryakumar Yadav to keep Pakistan in the hunt. 

3. Nawaz clean bowled Ravindra Jadeja to keep the Pakistani hopes alive

Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja stitched on an unforgettable partnership to save the day for India in their first match of Asia Cup 2022.

India in the middle overs seemed in serious trouble after having lost several wickets in the middle overs amidst the rising required run rate. Just when it seemed that things would go beyond India’s grip, the formidable duo of Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya started to bring India back into the game with some incredible counterattacking shots. 

The duo put up a magnificent 52-run partnership off just 29 balls to get India ever so closer to the target. Jadeja eventually was dismissed in the last over for a well-made 35, but Pandya stayed till the end and helped his team cross the finish line with a memorable sixer. He remained not out at 33 off just 17 balls.
