Asia Cup 2025: Abhishek Sharma shatters the massive record of Rohit Sharma in T20I, becomes the new sixer King of India

Indian Cricket Team batter Abhishek Sharma achieved a massive feat in the T20I cricket. He broke former skipper Rohit Sharma’s record of Indian openers with the most fifty-plus scores in T20is with a 200+ SR. 

Abhishek Sharma achieved the feat during the game against Bangladesh in the Asia Cup 2025. The Super Four game 4 of the tournament is taking place at the Dubai International Stadium in Dubai on Wednesday (24th September) as it will be a crucial game for both sides in the context of the final. 

Abhishek Sharma, who destroyed the Pakistan bowling lineup in the last match, continued his golden form with the bat and came up with yet another magical performance in the Asia Cup 2025. He made a mockery of the Bangladesh bowlers, slamming them all over the park. 

Abhishek Sharma hit a brutal fifty against Bangladesh and was looking all set for a big ton. However, he faced an unfortunate run-out and ended up getting out at 75. With the way, he was batting, it was almost certain that he would end up getting a ton. 

Abhishek Sharma batted with a strike rate of over 202 and slammed six fours and five sixes during his stay at the crease. This was the fourth consecutive time that he gave India a staggering start with the bat in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025.

Abhishek Sharma breaks Rohit Sharma’s record in the T20Is

This was the fifth time in his career that Abhishek Sharma slammed fifty with a strike rate of over 200. He surpassed Rohit Sharma, who achieved the feat four times.

Abhishek Sharma - 5*.
Rohit Sharma - 4.
