How can Sri Lanka National Cricket Team qualify for the final of the Asia Cup 2025 after defeat to Pakistan in Super Four stage?
Sri Lanka National Cricket Team have found themselves in massive trouble in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. After they ended the league stage undefeated, it was almost certain that they would be strong contenders to win the tournament.
However, things looked completely different for them in the Super Four stage. First, they faced a disappointing loss against Bangladesh in their opening game of the Super Four. It was then expected that they would make a strong comeback in their next match against Pakistan.
But another disappointing outing unfolded for them as they went on to lose the game by a margin of five wickets. In both games, Sri Lanka’s batting struggled and it was the major reason behind their losing the matches in the Super Four stage.
How can the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team qualify for the final of the Asia Cup 2025 after defeat to Pakistan in the Super Four stage?
The Sri Lanka National Cricket Team are currently reeling at the bottom of the Super Four points table. They have no wins under their belt and their qualification for the final is no longer in their hands. They are dependent on other teams to make it into the final of the Asia Cup 2025.
For the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team to qualify for the final, they would need a big favour from Bangladesh. They need Bangladesh to defeat both India and Pakistan in their last two games and after that, they need to win against India by a big margin.
If all these things fall in place then Sri Lanka will qualify for Bangladesh. However, if Bangladesh lose both games, they will also be eliminated along with Sri Lanka. In a realistic world, Sri Lanka’s chances to qualify for the final are very very less but one cannot predict things in T20I cricket
